Yesterday we heard about a British military man being beheaded in broad daylight in London.

As horrific as this is, consider for a moment being in Otrano some 600 years ago when Muslims beheaded 802 citizens because they would not renounce their Catholic faith. The beheadings were done in the view of the prisoners and yet they remained faithful to Christ, each one walking to his death.

These 800 martyrs were canonized by Pope Francis less than two weeks ago.
